For the past four years The Serenbe Photography Center has been operating with the mission of heralding still imaging including both chemical and digital mediums. Although this is a worthwhile endeavor it has required maintaining a darkroom, gallery, printing area, equipment, and administration space. It has also meant the employment of a Center Director.
With the New Year approaching, The SPC board has concluded that now is an appropriate time to create a new more encompassing concept for the encouragement and appreciation of imaging today and in the future. Therefore, beginning January 2014 the SPC space will be returned to the Serenbe Institute. In addition, the SPC Board will recommend that an outdoor “installation” using sight, sound, and motion be created at Serenbe in the spring of 2014. This will be the pilot for what we believe is a unique way to acknowledge the melding of still images, audio, and video.
The SPC Board is indebted to each and every volunteer, member, participating photographer and past patrons. Please know that you are all invited to be a part of the realization and success the new program. Any and all ideas are welcome.
In addition, we appreciate the past support of the Serenbe Institute. We are looking forward to working together on this new and innovative program.
Thank you all once again. We look forward to what is to be a wonderful showcase this coming year.
