| Basics and refresher classes for beginners and "rusty" printers with Jeani Elbaum, Jenny Duffy and Sonya Jilani from the TPPS Lab. SPC and the TPPS lab offer these three basic level ½ day workshops on making photographic prints regularly throughout the year. Instruction includes how to make traditional color or traditional B&W prints from negatives in the traditional photography darkroom, and how to make great prints from your digital images using our digital lab and color profiling software. Students will gain skills to make their own prints at The Photographer’s Print Studio lab in traditional, digital, B&W and color formats. Our lab is the only resource in the Southeast that offers this full range of service to all photographers! |

Each ½ day workshop is offered separately, but sign up for 2 in one day and get a discount and a free lunch at the Blue-Eyed daisy Café in Serenbe. Traditional B&W printing: 9:30am - 12:45pm Traditional Color printing: 1:45 - 5:00pm Digital printing: 9:30am - 12:45 pm & 1:45 am - 5:00pm - the basics of using a mac (if needed) - photoshop image processing - general operations for printers and scanner - the fundamentals of color management input vs output - the basics of color correcting - how to operate Image Print production software - how to scan negatives into the computer Students will receive a manual for the TPPS lab for reference and a free hour of printing if they join as a lab member. Students need to bring: a thumb drive or dvd with 2 final flattened files 11"x14" at a resolution of 300 dpi, one to create an 11x14 color print and the second to create an 11x14 black and white prinT

About the InstuctorsJeani Elbaum creates imagery based on sociological themes often pertaining to womanhood, family, and interpersonal relationships. She works in a variety of photographic media, including black and white, color and alternative processes. She has exhibited her work in various galleries in the Atlanta area and has received a number of awards including the Juror’s Award in the exhibition Pan terminus, juried by Julian Cox, Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art. She graduated from the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University in May 2008 with a BFA in Photography and a BA in Art History. Jenna Duffy
