A successful photography business can be yours with an introduction to the right tools. This two-day, intensive workshop starts with the specific business practices necessary for the photography industry; which contracts and forms are essential, how to charge for your work, basics of running a small business, marketing and advertising techniques, insurance, copyright and continues through to managerial accounting and tax issues. The workshop is lead by Judith Pishnery, an experienced, working professional photographer. Workshop includes a 300+page, comprehensive workbook drafted by Pishnery specifically for this class with industry specific handouts, resources, and more.

About the Instructor

Judith Pishnery grew up in a small coal mining town in central Pennsylvania and moved to the growing city of Atlanta in the mid-seventies. She currently resides in a small town, not unlike where she grew up, outside Atlanta with her husband and two small poodles. She began her passion for photography while in high school and continues it today. She is a professional photographer, working for editorial, advertising and corporate clients. Her fine art photographs have been shown and collected internationally. Judith has been teaching photography students in various workshops and art colleges for more than 20 years, in the US, Italy and France. She holds an MA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and is currently a photography professor at the Atlanta campus. In addition, she is an Advisory Board member with Atlanta Celebrates Photography (an annual photography festival) and has been involved on the Board of Directors since the early planning sessions in 1998.
